When is Amazon Prime Day in 2025?
First things first: mark your calendar so you don’t miss it. The official Amazon Prime Day date for 2025 is July 8 through July 11.
That’s right, what was once a single day has now become 4 whole days, giving you even more time to grab the top Prime Day deals before they vanish.
Pro tip: Amazon often leaks early deals in the days leading up to Prime Day, and they’ve already started. So be sure to check out these Early Prime Day Discounts.
Last year, I grabbed a 6-pack of smart plugs for 70% off before Prime Day even officially kicked off!
How to Make the Most of Prime Day 2025
Let’s be honest — Prime Day can feel like trying to drink from a fire hose. Thousands of discounts, flash lightning deals with countdown timers… it’s enough to make even seasoned deal-hunters panic-buy a robot vacuum they don’t actually need.
So let’s cut through the static and get you straight to what matters most.
To get started, if you don’t yet have a Prime membership, this is a great time of year to get one. Most deals on Prime Day, with the exception of a few free trial offers, require a Prime membership.
PS: here’s a hack if you don’t have Prime and don’t want a monthly membership — you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Prime to take advantage of all the offers in this article for Prime Day, then simply cancel afterward. Score!
Here’s the best deals on Prime memberships:
- Amazon Prime — 1 month free trial for all, then $14.99/mo after. (discount available for annual membership)
- Prime for Young Adults (18-24) and Students — 6 month free trial, then get Prime at a permanent 50% off at $7.49/mo after, plus 5% back on purchases in select categories. And bonus! From 7/8-7/11, Prime for Young Adults members earn 10% cash back on eligible purchases.
- Government Assistance Recipients — 1 month free trial, then get Prime a permanent 54% off at $6.99/mo after!

How to Use ‘Shop with Points’ for Extra Prime Day Discounts
Did you know you can stack your Prime Day discounts just by paying with credit card points? If you have an American Express or Discover rewards card, you’re in luck.
All it takes is to pay with points, but here’s the trick — any amount of points will do in most cases (but do check the terms). Previously, I’ve been able to unlock these discounts just by paying with 1 reward point. Free money, folks!
Sometimes these offers can be crazy good deals. This year for example, my American Express offer gave me 40% off $100 in Amazon purchases! The offer amounts are random, and below are some examples, but let us know what you get in the comments.
Here’s how to claim this year’s offers:
1) Visit these links to confirm you’re eligible. If you get a screen showing you the offer details, you’re in luck — claim the offer and enjoy!
- Discover ‘Shop With Points’ Offer — Get 30% off up to $100 in Amazon purchases by using points
- Discover Add a Card Offer — Get $20 off $20.01+ with promo code PDDISCO25
- American Express Membership Rewards Offer — Get 40% off up to $100 in Amazon purchases by using points
- American Express Reward Dollars Offer — Get 10% off up to $100 in Amazon purchases by using points
2) Once you see the offer details, make sure you’ve linked your eligible rewards credit card in your Amazon Wallet.
3) Now, just add items to cart. But do read the offer fine print: these discounts often only apply to items shipped and sold by Amazon.com.
4) At checkout, select your card and enter the points to use. I usually just do 1 since there are typically better redemption options for credit card rewards. The rest of the balance will be charged to your card.
The best part is, these offers tend to reset after a period of time, often around Prime Day. So I try to take advantage of these every year — it’s like an early Christmas present from Amazon!
Don't Miss These Amazon Prime Day Free Trials
Discounts are great, but how about some Prime Day freebies? Prime Day also offers free trials that are a nice little cherry on top of all the other discounts.
Every year, I take advantage of these free trials and simply cancel before the trial ends, pocketing the perks with zero regrets.
Like the ‘Shop With Points’ offers above, these free trials often reset, so if you used one of these in the past, chances are you’ll be eligible again! I’ve churned some of these many times (the Amazon Music trial is a personal favorite.)
Some of these offers are targeted, but most should be available to you.
Here’s the full list of free trials:
- Amazon Prime (+video) — 1 month free trial, or 6 months free for young adults 18-24! Perfect for binge-watching summer shows while you wait for your packages. Scroll down and click the yellow “Start your 30 day free trial” button.
- Amazon Kids+ — 1 month free trial. Usually $4.99/mo. We have this, and it’s a ton of wholesome, kid-friendly content at your finger tips!
- Kindle Unlimited — 3 month free trial for Prime members. Usually $11.99/mo. Try it for free and load up your e-reader with e-books.
- Amazon Music Unlimited — 4 month free trial. Usually $10.99/mo. Yes, you can cancel the second your calendar reminder pops up — I won’t tell.
- Audible Premium Plus — 3 month free trial. Usually $14.95/mo. Includes 1 free bestseller per month, so that’s 3 free audiobooks you get with the trial!
- Whole Foods & Amazon Fresh Grocery Delivery — 3 month free trial for Prime members. Usually $4.99/mo. Unlimited free delivery on orders $25+ from Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, & local retailers.
Don’t miss out on taking advantage of all these Amazon services for free, and you might even find that you enjoy them enough to keep the subscription once the trial ends!
Bottom Line
Prime Day isn’t just about impulse shopping — it’s about shopping smarter. If you plan ahead, compare prices, stack discounts with ‘shop with points’ offers, you can potentially save hundreds and make your money stretch further.
So, mark your calendar, bookmark those links, and check back often as the deals evolve, and don’t forget to grab those free trials while you’re at it. Saving Your Tail can be downright fun when you see that total at checkout drop lower and lower!
We don’t attempt to estimate the savings the average person will see on Prime day since it varies tremendously by person, but we’re sure you’ll save hundreds using this guide!
